Hayden's Bakeries to create 150 new jobs
Hayden's Bakeries has signed the lease on a new distribution facility that will free up a significant amount of production capacity at its Devizes bakery.
Speaking to FoodManufacture.co.uk after signing the lease, Hayden's md Paul Smith said the new 33,000 square foot site, which should be up and running by January 2011, would free up space at its bakery.
"We have a significant investment programme lined up to increase production capacity and modernise existing facilitiies."
Sales at Hayden's had increased by more than 30% in the past two years, driven by strengthening relationships with Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and Costa Coffee, he said.
"Waitrose is growing particularly fast, and the tie-up with Boots and the smaller format motorway service station stores are also creating new opportunities for us."
The changes would ultimately create up to 150 new jobs over the next two-to-three years, said Pieter Totte, executive chairman of Hayden's parent company Real Good Food Co.
Hayden’s makes bakery products and desserts including laminated yeasted dough products containing fresh fruit.
