Cadbury faces strike threat over Pay
Workers at Cadbury are threatening to strike in a row over pay.
Unite said a majority of staff had indicated they were in favour of industrial action over a broken deal on pay. The union said it would now proceed with a formal vote among its 1,200 Cadbury members.
Strike action would hit supplies of some of the most popular chocolate products in the country, including Wispa, Crunchie, Dairy Milk and Crème Egg, Unite said.
"Cadbury’s bosses have showered themselves and shareholders with 30% profits and the chief executive Todd Stitzer pockets, in one year alone, perks that far outstrip what the average Cadbury worker can ever hope to make in a lifetime," said Jennie Formby, Unite’s national officer for the food and retail sector.
