Nottingham Food Manufacturing scores £7m investment

Nottingham-based Southglade business park is set to receive a £7m investment to develop manufacturing in the area.

The scheme, partly funded by £3.8m of European finance, will pay for a 30,000sq ft expansion of the park, the construction of 12 new units for food and drink manufacturers and the creation of 90 new jobs in the area.

Councillor Graham Chapman, deputy leader of Nottingham City Council, said:“Food Manufacturing is an important sector for Nottingham, and this investment will unlock at least 90 job opportunities for the local community, with further jobs available in constructing the new units as well.“Southglade has been a great success and there has long been demand for expansion space, as well as new companies wanting to locate there.

“This extra cash boost helps the expansion plans to become a reality and will continue to promote the city as a desirable location for food and drink manufacturing in the UK. Development work is scheduled to begin before the end of 2014.
