Sales of Pet Milk up at Delamere Dairy

Knutsford, Cheshire based Delamere Dairy said like for like sales for its TopLife Formula in the first four months of 2014 has increased by 32.5 per cent.

A north west producer of goat’s milk products has hailed the success of its range of natural pet milk following a successful relaunch of the packaging last year.

Knutsford, Cheshire based Delamere Dairy said like for like sales for its TopLife Formula in the first four months of 2014 has increased by 32.5 per cent.

Its milk for cats and kittens both enjoyed the biggest growth with a 67 per cent increase.

TopLife milk for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, are all made from highly digestible goats milk. It was originally launched in 2004 and was the brainchild of Roger Sutton, one of the founder’s of Delamere Dairy.

An overhaul of the design and format of its 200ml cartons took place in the last six months of 2013, moving to a more convenient screw cap version.

The milks are supplied to most major supermarkets as well as independent pet shops.

Pat Brunt, sales and marketing director at Delamere said: “Our new packaging has resulted in significant gains for the business in terms of volume and value and we expect sales to continue to grow for the remainder of 2014 as we look to increase listings.

“We have also enjoyed very positive feedback from our customers following the new packaging entering the market; as well as bringing more vibrancy and fun to the TopLife range of Milks our customers are reporting the cartons are much more convenient with the new screw-cap, re-sealable carton.”

As well as improved sales across retailers, TopLife also reported a 78 per cent increase in sales at this year’s Crufts show.
