A leading Food & Beverage supplier is seeking to appoint a Compliance Manager who will ensure the business is surpassing its Compliance and Regulatory obligations.
The individual appointed will write and review company Risk and Compliance policies and develop a central resource/intranet of Regulatory and Compliance information that can be accessed by Managers internally, encouraging Departmental Managers to take ownership for Compliance.
The Compliance Manager will assist the business to achieve BRC-GS Standard for Storage and Distribution and will get involved in Group-wide Regulatory & Compliance matters such as: distance-selling, counter-fraud, sustainability, risk mitigation, health and safety, environmental, continuous improvement.
Acting as a key point of contact for external regulatory authorities, the Manager appointed will be responsible for collation and submission of required regulatory documentation. They will also fully embed compliance programs, ensuring the company’s approach to compliance is aligned with the wider Group.
There will be a requirement to complete and facilitate compliance risk assessments, internal audit reviews and compliance monitoring programmes to ensure the business is legal and compliant in all regulatory areas. Implement additional controls and processes where weaknesses are identified and monitor future legislation and regulations, supporting the business in implementing new legislation and guidelines.
There will be a requirement to work closely with Operations to identify Regulatory and Compliance risks and implement strategies that minimizes and monitors risk. The Compliance Manager will perform due diligence checks on Suppliers, reviewing accreditation certificates, product specifications and allergens lists, and manage audit requirements such as ISO 9001; 14001 certifications.
The jobholder will be proactive in offering their Compliance knowledge to Heads of Department, and working closely with the inhouse Group Legal team will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of compliance and regulatory areas, such as: anti-corruption (including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act), sanctions, anti-money laundering, conflicts of interest, gifts & entertainment, as well as general ethics issues.

- Passion for Compliance, Risk and Assurance
- Background in fast-paced Food/Drink/FMCG Operations
- HACCP Food/Drink Safety understanding
- Experience of managing regulatory compliance within a Food/Drinks business
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work well with others
- Commercial awareness and good understanding of broad business issues
- Available to commence quickly – Immediate start available
This is an interim assignment that will last approximately 6 months. Day Rate £300 - £400. Location North London. Parking onsite. Ref: 3362
