Distribution Manager – Northamptonshire

A well-established national distributor of foods is seeking to appoint a Distribution Manager for a site in Northants. The business has an outstanding record of growth and has successfully served the Wholesale and Foodservice market for many years.

The Role

This role will involve sitting on the senior site team with responsibility for all distribution activities and operational control. The appointed Manager will provide hands-on support to supervisors and staff and ensure a high-level of competence across the site. There will be responsibility for Fleet management within a time critical multi-drop operation.

The jobholder will ensure SLA’s are met with existing customers and new business is integrated and scheduled to deliver outstanding customer service at all times. The Distribution Manager will play a key role in recruiting staff and undertaking training in conjunction with the HR team. The Distribution Manager will also hold responsibility for stock control, ensuring perishable and short-shelf-life products are delivered within a 12-hour window.

As well as the day-to-day distribution related responsibilities, the jobholder will get involved in project-based work such as the testing of transport / distribution software, that will assist in the drive to improve efficiencies.  The Distribution Manager will develop excellent relationships with drivers and others within the delivery and distribution network, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.

The Person

Applicants for this role should have experience of managing a medium-to-large scale Distribution operation including an LGV fleet. It is expected that the appointed Distribution Manager will have worked within a Food distribution operation and be familiar with HACCP, Food Regulations, Transport Regulations. Applicants should hold an CPC A license and be used to managing budgets and working to strict financial plans. Ref: 2957

The alary for this role is £50,000 pa to £52,000 pa + Benefits depending on experience
