The Company

A well-established business that produces own label products and tertiary brands principally for Major Multiple Retailers. The business is seeking to appoint a Factory Manager who will report to the General Manager.

The Role

The purpose of the role is to manage the factory effectively by optimising productivity, quality and volume and by improving performance through the appropriate use of resources – people, equipment and materials, ultimately assisting the business meet its commercial goals. There will also be a focus on Continuous Improvement, focusing on activities that enhance operating efficiencies within the Factory.

Specific targets the Factory manager will work to include: achieving and improving standard profit margin on products, reduction of waste, increase in throughput, meeting the production plan, achieving required customer service levels, improving OEE, overseeing site hygiene, control of labour and materials variances to achieve targets, ensuring the production plan is met, adherence to Health & Safety standards.

The Factory Manager will manage the Engineering function in conjunction with the site Engineering Manager, to ensure manufacturing equipment is maintained to the highest operational capacity by ensuring a consistent approach to planned and reactive engineering activities. A further requirement will be the involvement with the management of CAPEX projects on site. The Factory Manager will also play a key role in identifying the skills needed within the Factory and will ensure training and development opportunities are provided to staff and a plan is implemented to allow for succession planning at all levels.

Applicants should have gravitas and be confident making decisions that will affect the profitability of the business. Factory Management experience is also expected gained from within the Food Manufacturing sector, ideally within a large complex site. Ref 3356     

The Salary is circa £60,000 pa + Benefits including an 8% Pension contribution
