Maintenance & Improvement Engineer – INTERIM
Based in Kent - Afternoon Shift - Monday to Friday – IR35 status under review
Circa £250 per day - Interim/Temporary role for 3 to 6 months
This Food Manufacturing business is growing sales, profitability and their product range, whilst making multi-million-pound investments in their UK operations. They have strong reputation for producing premium to a growing number of customers.
This Interim role has not been classed as inside or outside IR35 at this stage, so both options are under-consideration.
This is a newly created Interim/Temporary position to support the Afternoon shift with the delivery of general engineering maintenance, process improvements and optimisation of manufacturing assets across production and packaging machinery.
Reporting to the site Engineering Manager, the Maintenance & Improvement Engineer will respond to machinery breakdowns, complete planned preventative maintenance, carry out root cause analysis to eliminate reoccurring faults, identify areas for improvement, support and coach more inexperienced Engineers.
This will be a Multi-Skilled role delivering electrical and mechanical engineering duties, including fault finding on PLC & SCADA Control systems, and working on single and 3 phase electrics. Typical equipment on site includes process lines, depositors, ovens, mixers, checkweighers, sealing machines, metal detectors, printers and labelling machinery.
We are seeking applications from experienced Multi-Skilled Engineers with a proven track record of implementing machinery and process improvements within high pressure Food Manufacturing environments.
The appointed Engineer will be required to ‘hit the ground running’ and be able to influence Managers as to the merits of implementing Engineering Improvement work. Ref 3174
