The Company

A leading food manufacturer operating within Ambient Foods are seeking to recruit a Production Manager to support the business as it continues to grow operationally.

The Role

The Production Manager appointed will plan and manage production volumes, production quality and efficiencies. They will manage and develop their Production team and ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained at all times. Using their experience and understanding of improvement methodologies, the production manager will seek opportunities to improve operational efficiencies within the department in order to plan for the increase in production volumes.

There will be a requirement to ensure compliance with the relevant Food regulations, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene procedures in the Production area and develop strong relationships with the Operations and Quality Manager to ensure specifications and procedures are being met. Within this role the Production Manager will oversee the weighing, packing, labelling, checking and production of foods whilst ensuring that daily/hourly productivity targets are met.

The Production Manager will assist in establishing and maintaining the efficient running of the department stockroom areas ensuring that product is stored in the correct designated location, is effectively labelled, and rotation procedures adhered to. Ensure all internal stock movement procedures are adhered to in order to maintain an accurate stock inventory.

The Person

Applicants should have gained 3+ years’ experience as a Production Manager within a Food Manufacturing site, with a high level of understanding around Hygiene Regulations, HACCP, BRC, Health & Safety. Experience of working to productivity KPI’s and experience of automated production equipment is also expected. There will be a requirement to work some weekends. Ref 2958
