Quality Manager - Surrey

Salary circa £46,000 pa 

An International business with a strong record of growth are seeking to appoint a Quality Manager who will be the Technical point of reference for both customers and internal departments at a small but modern food manufacturing site. 

The Role

This role will involve working Monday to Friday (office hours) and the position reports directly to the Site Director. Key duties will involve managing and maintaining the Quality systems, HACCP and BRC Accreditation. The Quality Manager will work independently and will focus be responsible for all Technical matters at a small but busy Food Production site. They will create non-conformance reports and communicate non-conformance information with relevant heads of departments. 

The Quality Manager will instil a ‘quality first’ improvement culture and implement corrective actions for non-conformance relating to products and processes. There will be a requirement to conduct internal audits in line with site quality policies and ensure compliance with customer specifications, BRC Standards, EHO and other food related requirements.

The jobholder will investigate customer complaints and quality issues, agree action plans and implement initiatives to improve product quality. The Quality Manager will host customer technical teams and BRC auditors during on-site visits and work closely with internal colleagues to sign off documentation across the factory, such as product preparation sheets, weight control documents, and HACCP compliance. 

The Person

We are seeking an individual with extensive experience gained within a Food Production environment, combined with excellent knowledge of BRC version 8, HACCP, GMP, and Food Hygiene standards. Applicants will need to have maturity and the ability to make pragmatic decisions as they will be working under minimal supervision. 

This role may suit a Quality Technician, Quality Supervisor or even a Quality Manager who enjoys the Technical challenges without the complications of managing a team. Ref 3326

The Salary for this role is £45,000 pa to £47,000 pa depending on experience.
