Due to continuing growth, a well-established award-winning Food Manufacturing business is seeking to appoint a Quality Manager. The role will involve overseeing the Quality team within a ‘cottage industry’ style business that is primarily a supplier to Retail customers. 

The Role

Working Days Monday to Friday, the individual appointed will need to be conversant with the Quality and Compliance requirements of supplying Major Multiple Retailers and have a detailed working knowledge of BRC and HACCP. The position reports into the Technical Manager and the individual appointed will be a key technical contact for customers and will act as the pivotal link between Retailers and the business. 

The Quality Manager appointed needs to be comfortable operating in a hands-on manner as they will get involved with production line quality checks, swabbing etc covering for absent colleagues. Duties will include: Training and Developing the Quality team, being present on the factory floor, developing robust Quality Systems, Ensuring Quality Checks are recorded, Continuous Improvement activities, HACCP auditing, BRC Auditing, Complaints and Defects Management, Implementation of Corrective Actions, maintaining GMP and Food Safety standards. 

The Person

Previous Quality Management experience within a Food Manufacturing environment is essential. There will be a requirement to prepare the site for Internal and BRC Audits, so experience of working within a modern BRC accredited environment is also required. Ideally, applicants will have experience of Chilled Food, but this is not essential. Ref 3322
