The Role

An interesting opportunity available for a food manufacturing Technical Manager with particular experience within Labelling, to join an organisation based in Greater Manchester. The business is well established and is exceeding its growth targets within both the UK and Internationally, which is opening up career advancement for its employees.

Within this role there will be a key focus on label approval support and nutrition labelling. There will be a requirement to update the artwork approval system and use Retailer approval systems to access and approve own label artworks. The jobholder will provide regulatory advice to the business regarding re-designs and label amendments and will liaise with external bodies regarding food safety, quality and nutrition. There will also be an opportunity to manage Technical projects and be involved with NPD activities.  

The Technical Manager will manage a small team and support the Manufacturing, Sales, Innovation, Process and Technical departments to ensure that all product labels meet legal requirements for UK and Overseas markets. It is therefore essential that all candidates will have understanding of labelling laws, food safety laws, and a good working knowledge of nutritional issues. Experience of managing the technical aspects of bought-in finished goods and approving suppliers is also expected.

The Person

We are seeking applications from food industry professionals possessing an honours degree in a Food related subject, management experience, with extensive and up-to-date Labelling and Food Law knowledge. A working knowledge of BRC and HACCP is a further prerequisite. Ref 3321
